Summer Kick-Off: June 14, 2014 at the Waterfront!

I, personally, am hoping that I can spend every Sunday that I’m available taking pictures – even if it’s just of me. I’m thinking I may set a weekly meet time where anyone who wants to can participate. I have a particular video project I would like to complete, so Sundays would be best for that to happen, but if there’s a particular day where attendance is low, we can go back to the usual.

Weekly Sundays will start June 22, also at the Waterfront. If location changes for a particular week, look for updates on our Facebook page!

The participation form will be updated and re-uploaded when I get my next opportunity.

If this summer goes well, I’m hoping that by next summer I can invest in a decent D-SLR camera, preferably with HD video. This summer will (in all likelihood) be a “summer of the camera phone” as far as this project’s concerned. Fortunately for us, camera phones are really good at taking pictures right now. Yay technology.

Again, Summer kick-off is JUNE 14th with the first weekly Sunday shoot being JUNE 22nd!

As always, just because the shoot starts in a certain location doesn’t mean that the shoot will stay there.

If you have never attended a shoot before, you can download a copy of the release form from the link in the right sidebar. I will most likely bring extras with me, but we can save time by having them filled out in advance.

(Edit Post-Shoot: We had a wonderful shoot. Now it’s just a matter of uploading pictures as we have time available. My few black and white photos have gone up – including the one that is now with this post. I will be adding a dancer/photographer profile page as soon as I get the profile shots in.)

Edit: The photo shoot has been moved to June 15th. There will not be anyone to meet if you show up today (5/25) or on June 8th.

Hey Everyone!!!

So it looks like tomorrow is going to be quite rainy. I am still holding tomorrow as is. (Dance pictures in the rain could come out really cool.) However, that won’t stop me from posting a rain date for anyone who would rather avoid the rain all together. (Probably June 8th/9th.)

I have been asked about apparel by a few people. Wear whatever you feel is both representative of you as a dancer and that you are comfortable wearing outside in public. If you’re a ballet dancer and okay with wearing a leotard and tights in public, go for it. If you have a good little black dress, that’s fine too. Please bring raincoats if you are going to be there tomorrow (5/25).

I will be bringing spare copies of the liability/release forms, but if you have time to print out the form (under PDF Booklet, it’s page 4 of the packet) and fill it out before arriving, it will help save time. If you are SHOWING UP LATE, please fill out the form ahead of time and get it to me. I realize we’re splitting up, possibly all over the city, so if you can find me first and then move on to whatever splinter group you’re planning to meet, that would be great.

Since it will most likely be raining, we will be meeting at the information booth across from ECHO. (I believe there is an overhang there.) If for some reason we are not there, we may have actually gone into ECHO itself. Once I’ve gotten paperwork from everyone, we’ll move outside.
