I have been in one of my “can’t finish a book” ruts for a few days now. Which means I have been switching back and forth in an endless cycle between Wild Wood by Posie Graeme-Evans, The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry, and The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry. This is followed by brief moments of “Oh! I should finish that” with Justice Hall by Laurie R. King. Add to those that I’ve now started Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emmie Lang. I blame being stuck at home for so long that my brain is now having difficulty concentrating on one task for too long. Wild Wood has come closest to capturing me into the story, but the jumping between time periods is what inevitably knocks me back into the present – so, suffice it to say, it’s been tricky.
I haven’t gotten hooked into a book since I finished The Huntress.
On top of that, I’ve needed exercise – badly. So I’ve decided to tout some of my favorite dance studios who are doing online classes. (Both of these studios have mostly adult classes and can be found on the Mindbody app.)
In addition, Lines Vermont has also put a few things you can do at home on their YouTube channel, including the following Advanced Beginner Ballet Barre:
These are only a couple of the dance studios who are offering classes online. A lot of the larger companies are doing barre and dance exercises on YouTube, but the smaller studios need to find a way to keep doing what they’re doing, and those Zoom classes are the only way right now.
